For many months we struggled and it became evident we had to find a really savvy, connected broker who got offers accepted and sales closed. Research pointed to Annette because of her high volume of listings and sales, and her being in a top office. At our initial meeting, she zeroed in on what we wanted and, subsequently, never wasted time on other properties. Annette does not have assistants – we only dealt with her and phone calls and emails are returned immediately, and showings happened right away even if we called on a Sunday afternoon. You wonder how she does it and then realize she is extremely well-organized and efficient. Many times she called other brokers to make arrangements while we were with her and it was obvious she has a great working relationship with them. At the end of 2018, I decided to take my house (two lots, 1 1/2 acres rural property) off the market, change realtors, and put it back on the market at a later date. I approached Annette based on the reviews I’d read. I appreciated that Annette was up front and direct, and told me what she believed hadn’t worked when I’d used another realtor and what she would do to help this house sell. She was very clear as to what I needed to do to get the house ready, and what I should expect realistically, including price-wise. One thing I immediately noticed about Annette was that she returned all phone calls, emails, and messages IMMEDIATELY. That was extremely important to me, and especially when I had questions about the house-selling process as I was trying to get the house and myself ready. Annette knows the process, and what works and what won’t. I followed her instructions in every way. The house went on the market on a Monday afternoon, and Tuesday morning I had an offer. Here is my story:
We were looking for a house in Corvallis for several months, and I was not happy with the agent we were working with. Having to choose a new one, I remembered an encounter with the listing agent of an open house. I asked her if she would represent buyer and seller and her answer was “”I represent one or the other. There’s a conflict of interest, and between ethics and money, I prefer to be ethical””. The words stuck with me. So I called her up. Annette made herself immediately available.
Our “”must haves”” were not the most common ones. We wanted a house with distinct architectural personality, high ceilings throughout, lots of natural light, good, solid construction, high quality finishings, and with mountain views. We also wanted it to be a short drive to town, but it had to be on a private, large wooded lot, on a quiet neighborhood where the nights would be silent and dark. We also wanted it to be move-in ready. New appliances and the typical updated kitchen and bathrooms were a plus, but not a must. We preferred NW Corvallis, but we didn’t want it on landslide hazard zone. And we definitely did not want to be in any of the new developments. Not an easy find in Corvallis, I knew.
Annette immediately understood what I was looking for. She didn’t waste my time showing properties that did not meet our criteria. And at every viewing, she was there 100% for me, answering all my questions and pointing out the “”good, the bad and the ugly”” in every property.
One of our first viewings was a very nice property that met most of my criteria, but offered less than the ideal privacy I was looking for, and the lot was relatively small. After seeing every detail, Annette asked me “”what do you think?”” I proceeded to comment on the house (it was excellent). Then Annette stopped me. She said “”I’m not asking about the house. I want to know if you would be happy here””. From then on I knew she knew what I was looking for, and I knew she would help me find it.
But what I wanted was not easy to find in Corvallis, and I was becoming frustrated. Annette kept saying “”don’t worry, your house is out there, and we will find it””. And what a finding! We couldn’t be happier with the purchase we made. My husband and I love our new place. I think I still say aloud, every day, that I love this house better than any other house we ever owned. And I appreciate every little bit the part Annette played in getting us here.

Annette is a gem. She’s straightforward, honest, knowledgeable, and thorough. Her response time is incredible. She’s a strong advocate for her clients. She’s also ethical; she won’t represent the buyer and seller for the same property and she’ll tell you if a house costs too much, which will give you confidence that when she tells you to offer over asking on another property, it’s not because she wants more money. She knows experts in every field who respond to her requests just as fast as she’ll respond to you, so if she can’t answer your question about the condition of a house for example, she’ll be able to get an answer quickly. We found Annette through a Zillow agent search and set up an appointment to meet. She was on time, professional, and to the point. She advised us, in general, what it takes to sell a small home like ours quickly and for maximum profit. We gave her our timeline (which actually changed midway through this project), and she returned a series of goals we could target to meet our objective.
What really stood out the most for us was how cleanly she advised. She suggested we obtain a pre-inspection report prior to listing. This gave us a baseline to work from and helped us repair any issues a potential buyer might request during the transaction. Annette suggested the contracters that we hired to perform the work so we didn’t need to spend time searching for the right person for the job. This saved us a huge amount of time.
Once we had all the minor repairs handled, she brought in a professional stager. The stager consulted with us and really helped improve the overall look and feel of the house (interior and exterior). We were moving to Hillsboro, and wondering whether to sell or rent our Corvallis house. We found Annette through Angie’s List, and asked her to look at the property and give us her impression. The short story is we opted to rent the house instead of sell at that time, but were so impressed with Annette, her work ethic, her ideas for staging, and her knowledge of the local market and inventories, that we said that when we did decide to sell, we would definitely want Annette to handle it.
A year later, after spending some time cleaning up the property, we again asked Annette to come by and give an opinion regarding sale. She asked for a month to see if she could sell it. Again, to keep the story brief, she not only sold the property for full asking price, she managed to do it in less than a week. No kidding. She had the house sold before staging; before an open house. The house was sold before it was even officially listed.
Between the offer acceptance and closing, there were some inspection items that needed tended to. Annette took care of contractors and scheduling to the point that the only reason we had to come back to Corvallis was to sign the closing contracts. I had heard about Annette a few years ago from a very good friend who she had helped in finding and buying a new home. I made a mental note when he raved about how great she was, so I had pretty high expectations when I decided to choose her to be my agent for a house that I was interested in. Annette showed me the house within 24 hours of when I contacted her (it had only been listed for 2 days) and I knew immediately that it was the one, and so I asked her to do what ever it would take for me to successfully buy it. Well, that was 2 months ago and now the home is mine! Even though I had set my expectation bar very high, Annette exceeded it in every way possible. Annette recognized this and insisted on facilitating letting the contractors in and out of the house. Annette also kept in constant contact with us by phone, text, and or email. This made things run so smoothly and helped with our peace of mind regarding progress of the sale.

A friend had worked with Annette and insisted I contact and meet with her during my search for a realtor. I had been told that the Corvallis market is notoriously competitive, which can be intimidating for a first time buyer. Additionally, a number of my fellow “”first time buyer”” colleagues had told tales of expensive bidding wars, realtors who are more interested in their fees than cost-benefit for their buyers, etc. I resolved to be a wary buyer.
I closed on my first home yesterday – less than 3 months after I started working with Annette. Annette was very professional and caring. She was also tactfully direct. As wary as I resolved to remain through this process, I had little in-depth knowledge about real estate in Corvallis.

I can get into the backstory of how it is my wife and I came to know Annette, but then I don’t want to lose your attention before you get the recommendation. So I will start with it… if you are reading this considering whether or not you should hire Annette, the answer is a resounding… yes! Call her, if she doesn’t answer leave a message with your contact information; I can almost guarantee you that she will call you back before you are done reading the rest of this review.
On to the backstory, we were looking for an apartment as we had just moved here from the east coast, and learned the hard way that renting in Corvallis is not easy, especially with a dog. So we looked online, like yourself, reading reviews and wondering the same things you are. Lots of 5 stars, great reviews, years of experience, it all sounds too good to be true, especially when you have been living at the KOA for the past week and that after another week of driving across the country. We took a leap of faith and called, left a message and Annette called back within 15 minutes, and we told her our story. She laughed and told us to come to the office immediately, we did, and we ended up getting a house shortly thereafter, but that’s not what you need to hear either. The following is what you really want to know, and I hope as you read the following paragraphs you will feel more confident in your decision to call Annette. Here goes…the 3 things I feel you need to know about Annette:
1. She knows Corvallis, she knows her market, and in a lot of cases she knows what you want/need before you do. Her closing record precedes her, that alone might be enough, but there is more. She will literally work non-stop to get you what you need. Evident when you see emails with time stamps late into the evening. She is not in the business of chasing deals; she is the business of developing relationships. Her greatest gift to you, regardless of how much money you may or may not be spending, is a house you will be happy with. Her bottom line is just that simple. I truly believe that job satisfaction for Annette comes from looking back on her hard work and seeing the people she has helped enjoying the experience of owning their home. I know this because she still calls checking in, and if I have a question she has always been there to help.
2. Buying a house can be an intense negotiation process, and if you wouldn’t bring a knife to a gunfight, then don’t go into a negotiation without Annette. She is outgoing, kind, and honest, but one of her greatest abilities is to balance that with a graceful toughness. To mistake her kindness for weakness would be just that… a mistake. This is hugely important to me, you want to know that the person in your corner has your best interests in mind, and they have the business acumen to follow through with the deal. Annette is loyal and capable, and you will not be disappointed.
3. Finally and most important to me is she’s as real as it gets. I believe she is as far from a salesperson as you can get, and I think she would agree as well. Annette is not the type to coddle, sell you a story, or shuffle you along. If you are the type that needs to have your hand held thru the process because you are unsure, she may not be the right fit for you. She expects as much professionalism and commitment to the sale from you as she expects from everyone else involved including herself. When we decided to look seriously in Corvallis, I asked my brother, a realtor in McCall ID, to find us the best realtor in town and arrange for us to be shown around on an upcoming visit. Our experience with Annette was fantastic and very successful. We’ve worked with several agents over the years (7 to be specific) and Annette is easily at the top of that list. She was recommended by a friend who told us “”she works hard for you””, and she really did.
We were on a tight deadline to get a house but had very specific criteria. She took more than half a day to discuss with us, understand our needs, but nothing was available which met our needs yet. She said as soon as I have something I will let you know. Two days past and we got a call. This was it, the house we were looking for was about to go on the market. She was able to get us to be first to visit it, needless to say, there was competition, people were waiting behind us to visit. I would recommend Annette to anyone who wants a no-nonsense, fast and clean sale of their home while being treated respectfully as a seller. After having my home on the market for 4 months with a different realtor, i had gone through 2 price reductions and 4 open houses with not a single offer. i was worried I would be stuck with my home through the winter and not be able to get out from under it. I then contacted Annette, and began working with her. From the get go she was extremely responsive, timely, knowledgable, and realistic about the issues I was facing. She was able to give me a few small tasks to enhance the home before we re-launched it onto the market under her name.
